Who I am. What I am about.

Hello! My name is Melissa. Welcome to my blog, the battle babe. This is my first ever blog! I am an Army Veteran, Registered Nurse working full-time, about to start school full-time for Master’s of Science-Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner, and someone that constantly battles her own mind. I have a wonderful, supportive family that is proud of my accomplishments all the time. Although, it is hard for me to connect with people on a deeper level. I do not have any children, but I have a boyfriend that has 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls. I have dated someone with children one other time and it can be a challenge especially since I do not have children of my own.

I believe I keep myself busy and continue to do more as a trauma response to things of my past. I have to keep myself busy and almost have that need for validation not just from others, but for myself. I decided to write a blog because I am awful at talking about my feelings or anything in my life, but I can write my feelings out without much thought. I wanted to start a blog on the lifestyle of a woman or a man constantly on the move and just trying to find their place in the world. I have struggled finding my voice at times and I want to provide encouragement and power to others.

CONTENT OF MY BLOG

Some of the things I plan to talk about in my blog are:

  1. my daily routines, especially a nurse in the middle of a pandemic
  2. healthy living, my struggles with weight fluctuations
  3. nurse practitioner school tips and what it is like
  4. dating someone with children when you don’t have children
  5. mental illness from a personal and professional perspective
  6. body positivity and trying to love yourself in this world

MY PLAN AS A NEW BLOGGER

Those are just some examples that I plan to include, but I’m sure there will be much more included. I plan on hopefully selling merchandise and ideas on making extra money for individuals constantly looking for improvement in their life. I would love to donate money from whatever I make to the Wounded Warrior Project (veterans with PTSD), Face It Foundation for men that have always been taught that depression and mental health is not acceptable, and other organizations to fight the stigma on mental health. I just want to help people and help them realize they are not alone. I became a nurse for this very reason.

If you are reading this, I hope you will enjoy my blog. I am writing this blog for individuals struggling with the same things I am, but are too afraid to talk about it. Feel free to comment, participate, ask questions/advice, and just be interactive. Constructive criticism is welcome also. This is my first blog so of course, I will need advice myself. 1. I am so proud of you and love that you are doing this for yourself and others. I love that now I can also come here to help shed some light on what you are going through cuz sometimes you struggle to talk to me as I struggle to find the right questions to get you to open up to me. And I love you for being so strong and brave. Good for you Melissa! ❣
