10 Random Facts About Me

My Love & I
  • I am 33 years old. I don’t even feel 33 years old. I still feel young and ready to take on the world. I swear I think after 25 years old time just flew by. There is still so much more I want to do in life.
  • I love traveling! I was a travel nurse for a couple of years. One day I just sold my house, got an RV/truck, and left. It was a great experience. I learned a lot from seeing how different hospitals worked. I still have a bucket list where I want to visit all 50 states.
  • I don’t have kids of my own, but I was married once and engaged once. My ex-husband and I were together on and off for 11 years. My ex-fiance’ and I were only together a little over a year.
  • I start my Master’s of Science in Nursing-Family Nurse Practitioner program on Jan. 4th, 2021. I am excited and anxious about this next step. I always had a goal to be where I wanted to be in my career by the age of 35. I think I am going to meet that goal now and I’m pretty proud of myself for doing so.
  • I have 2 English Bulldogs. I have had them since they were puppies. Titan Buford is 10 years old. He is brindle. He is co-dependent and he has been by my side his entire life. He is my best friend. Jazzy Jade is 9 years old and was initially my ex-husband’s dog. She had puppies and he took 2 of them leaving Jazzy with me. I am glad he did though. She doesn’t like many people and I love that she feels safe with me. Now I have acquired a “step-dog” Bandit. He is a German Shepherd, my boyfriend’s dog. He is a good boy.
  • I was in the Army Reserves for 8 years. I did my 6 and 2 for those of you that knows what that means. I deployed to Baghdad for a year. It was a really good experience for me, but it has also changed my mental health for the worse. They do not teach you coping skills or what to expect while you are in and thereafter.
  • I have been an RN for almost 7 years. I have my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and have been in the nursing field since I was 17 years old. I got my CNA (Certified Nurse’s Assistant), then I didn’t know for sure what I wanted to do so I joined the Army. I went up the chain after that and got my CMT (Certified Medication Technician), LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), then RN (Registered Nurse), and my Bachelor’s shortly after.
  • I love to learn! If I am interested in something I will research, read, watch videos, and just find anything I can about the topic. As an RN I am about to learn pretty much every floor in the hospital just because I enjoy learning new things. If you ask me for advice and I’m not sure about the answer, I will find it and make sure I have the right answers for you.
  • Finding love is hard and sometimes it happens at a time you don’t expect it to. I wasn’t looking for anything when I found my current boyfriend. We have had our issues and have had to work really hard at making it all work. As I get older, I notice I have become set in my ways and I’m not always the easiest person to love or be in a relationship with. I feel a lot of people think like this once they become their own person, but we make it work.
  • Finally, I’m so afraid of writing this blog and failing. I’m afraid I won’t get my voice out there or be too scared to get my voice out there. It is difficult to talk about anything, let alone your own personal traumas. I just want to help others and let them know they are not alone. The stigma on mental health needs to stop. Everyone has issues. Everyone has problems and trauma. I want to help let everyone know it’s okay to talk about it and heal.
